Always at the centre

Skirmish: At the Center (@scubed)Liner Notes
I saw this skirmish prompt and was tempted, but it was 2am here and I thought it was a bit late for the neighbours, so I did it now at a much more civilised hour. Nice prompt, and although late, I did adhere to the skirmishing ethos and it didn't take as long as an hour. Scouts honour!
Lyrics
You always have to be the centre of things Making it all about you It's been like that since we first met It's just a think that do
And I don't mind being a spoke on your hub Just one of many more But I've started to notice Some of the others are broken
And they’re still hanging on to you Doesn't matter what you do You're always at the centre Though the wheel no longer runs true
You attract people into your world The focus is always on you The beautiful one at the centre of all Now I realise that holds true
You always have to be the centre of things It’s always, always about you It's been like that since we first met It's just something you do
You always were the centre, always the centre

What a great analogy! I love the idea that when some of the spokes are broken the wheel no longer runs true as a way to describe the destructive effects of selfishness. I definitely know a few people like this! In the category of "F U" songs, like Positively 4th Street.
