Liner Notes
Paul Harrison writes great songs with beautiful music, but, once in a while, I get lucky and find his lyrics in search of a melody. How could I refuse?
This is the first time trying to insert chords in their proper places. Let's see how that goes!
Lyrics
Young Trevor was shaping a flower pot A gift for a gardener, his mom Hoping to shape it perfectly He started patient and calm But the height was a bit uneven The rim was wonky here and there Frustrated with imperfections Asked the teacher for tips she could share
She said magic is finding a new way For your love to be conveyed Few things (or people) are flawless Remember we're all handmade
Years later when the boy became a young man He met Sarah whom he adored Her humour and kindness were endearing He had never felt this before But she struggled to make a commitment Although she adored him as well Feeling her faults were so many That one day she'd ruin the spell
But he said the magic is finding a new way For your love to be conveyed Few things (or people) are flawless Remember we're all handmade
Art and love can be scary Unpredictable, exciting if you're bold Great joy can come from your creation But seeking perfection is fool's gold
You know that magic is finding a new way For your love to be conveyed Few things (or people) are flawless Remember we're all handmade

I wish I could take credit for @paulharrison's lyrics. Like you, I was impressed with them. There is something to be said for concise and precise lyrics. As I like to express it, say as much as you can with your pen in your pocket.
Such nice story! So concise. I'm inspired to take more care with my lyrics on my next song - I've been relying on stream of consciousness a tad too much I reckon.
