Lyrics
I've had a heavy cold and lost my voice.
I'm recovering now but still a bit croaky - so be kind.
The Man That I Am
I started from a different place to here There were many years of growing Many years of showing Before I became the man I am
Now I’m free and easy Little things just seem to pass me by I no longer have to worry I’m just happy my life, has turned out fine
Years ago when I was still a boy I would use my imagination Try to avoid temptation Before I became the man I am
Now I’m free and easy Little things just seem to pass me by I no longer have to worry I’m just happy my life, has turned out fine
Lots of things have changed along the way Sometimes my heart’s been broken By words that have been spoken Before I became the man I am
Now I’m free and easy Little things just seem to pass me by I no longer have to worry I’m just happy my life, has turned out fine
Now I’m so much closer to the end I’m thankful for my journey And all the things it’s taught me To become the man that I am
To become the man I am

Not knowing you normal voice it's of course not noticeable and actually adds an interesting quality. Nice to hear a happy reflection song. The delivery is very pleasant.
I really enjoyed listening to this! It's such a well-structured song - I appreciate the rhyme scheme in your verses with the rhymes in lines 2 and 3 - so clever! I also appreciate the lovely message of how we all have to go on our journeys in order to become our authentic selves.
