Good Sense

Liner Notes

needed another jazz song for the show

Lyrics

I’m going out of style Faster than I can keep up with the news I don’t even know what I’m losing out to The rug is pulled The cards pushed all in I don’t remember doing it

I’m going out of style Replaced by a fiend so much nicer than me Better at the right things And i swear i can’t take Another fatal mistake Of you telling me what you’d do differently

I’ll smile But my blood is boiling Hide An aggressive warning Too polite to look at my teeth While I bear them at you, you devour me

If I had good sense You wouldn’t in be my audience The innocent can wait their turn There’s so much goodwill left to burn And I’ve heard I can’t take it with me

I’m going out of style You’re lining your pockets With my ideas that I said you could borrow I would never begrudge Success for anyone As long as they know the work I’ve done

I’m going out of style Safely careening from one legacy to another And I know that it’s petty to swear at the screen When I see a name that doesn’t belong to me

Really cool song. From the slow build up right to the end. I like the way the vocals seem to dance with the instrumental tracks. The narrator is an interesting character.

Very nice, love the jazzy bass + drums and the saxophone is a great touch! Can't wait to hear it on the show!! (I am super behind on it - this could motivate me to catch up 😅)
