Maybe I'll actually write 2 or 3 songs today. Here's hopin
Lyrics
You’re wearing an ominous crown A halo Removing it must stain your hands
Shame, shame The sun is opening Offer up a flame Something to pay the piper Will that make you lighter?
Heart sign It will open my eyes Till i’m dead Half lie That i took to the side of the head Half ly- Ing awake determining Proportionality and what will happen if it comes to an end Good try You can have whatever body you like Goodbye The last stop is approaching ahead Flash freeze With a terminal ease While the terminus bleeds From the artificial shortening
You’re furrowing a path through the ground Tornado And moving it must waste your breath
Shame, shame The city is closing down Open up the clouds Something to pay the piper Will that make you lighter?
Life size Scrutinized until it barely exists Life signs It’ll leave you holding your chest Life passing you by There must be something else to do I’ll see if I can pencil you in Breathe deep It’s the only thing that’s holding you in Tough break They aren’t allowed to make promises Flash freeze With a terminal ease While the terminus bleeds From the artificial shortening
Ooo - love those dissonant harmonies! Interesting to contemplate your lyrics. I am not sure I am grasping all the meaning, but I sensed tension between beginnings and endings, what it means to be deceived, and unmet promises. I love the contrast between the spoken and sung lyrics. The verses really build energy. Nice job with this.
