My friend and I tried to hit a protest the other day but it was several hours old and was just like twenty high school kids at that point. I saw on social media and the news that so many kids walked out of school earlier that day. I'm so proud of them, they give me hope!

I walked by the Believe Plaza in downtown Reno with a friend 'Cause we were planning to see what was going on There'd be a school walkout that morning-- Thousands of teenagers took to the streets

And I'm so proud of them They're so strong

And I wish that-- When I grow up, could I be as courageous as the kids I saw that day When I grow up, could I be as brave them?

Let me tell you right now that--

The kids are alright and they're not afraid of the fight Yeah, the kids, they're alright Even though I don't really understand what they're saying When I saw them standing on the side of the road and screamin' at the cars I'd like to say that the kids are alright And things are gonna be fine!

I signed up to be a substitute teacher Not because I believe in the cause But because I need a little bit of money to fund all the things I love

But now I'm filled with fire in my soul To keep these kids going strong!
