Liner Notes

Hmm, interesting skirmish prompt...

Lyrics

It’s just a promissory note We don’t really have your money It’s really just a concept To make you feel secure

If you go down to the vaults What do you think you would see Piles of unused banknotes And gold and precious stones

We’re not living in the past anymore Just a thought for you to explore Computers do the work we used to do We sit and watch the money drip through

The world is run on trust No more boom and bust Institutions that exist Support each other with a shake from the wrist

Better that the people don’t know Better than we keep it to ourselves Our bonuses grow and grow As w e support the drug cartels

It’s just a promissory note We don’t really have your money It’s really just a concept To make you feel secure

Beautifully done, thoughtful and insightful song. Beautiful singing and playing about the sad facts of current life.

Economists have been saying for ages that money is only a way of thinking, but this song makes that real, step by step. Really strongly said and with the reassuring music to fit the idea. Easy to follow along.

I enjoyed this ballad. It feels very calm and reassuring until you pay attention to the lyrics. It's kinda exactly like the financial system Ponzi scheme. Most people don't know this.
