I don't want to be an ass, but I feel like a mule

Liner Notes
My MIL is dying and the room where I usually record songs is being used, so I haven't been able to do much recording. Well, I complained about it once while running to the stores for groceries what I said was a bit too loud (I thought it was under my breath) "I don't want to be an ass, but I feel like a mule" so I quicky wrote this...
Lyrics
Running here, running there in the cold and the rain all you do is stare
Bed ridden for months never again to walk deciphering your grunts
I don't want to be an ass but I feel like a mule doing everything you ask
it cost too much for care too scary are those places the stories they share
So I run here and there in the cold and rain only because I care
I don't want to be an ass but I feel like a mule and the snow turns to grass
But, I'm going to be here to see you through wiping away a tear

Why do they call you donkey?
"He alw..., He alw... He always calls me that!"
Old joke......
Sorry to hear about your situation. But some things are more important than songwriting sometimes....
I like the title and the execution!
Such an visceral yet honest and loving take on the situation. It would be interesting to hear it sung in a maybe country ballad style.
