You Can

Liner Notes
I don’t usually write songs TO myself, but I’m in need of a pep talk, so here we are. I’ve done some awesome and fun things, and even if I’m fighting some hard and ugly feelings, I am capable and I needed to remember that.
Lyrics
Think back to the first time you flew One your own watery wings Just creaking oars, timing and you And the strength to do just anything.
You learned to push, to glide You learned to focus in You struggled through with pride Your calloused grip, a win
Reach back your hand through the years To the first time it gripped a sword Your chin rose above your fears Strength filled you without a word
You know more now than then Learned how a blade can move When challenged yet again You have no more to prove
Remember how long ago When you first learned to play Young hands far too small to flow Grew in skill to today
A comfort now is found In notes and brightened song Just lean into the sound It’s chords will make you strong
Think back on the paths that you’ve walked In bright sun and in rain Through all that life has taught You’ll soon stand up again
You’ve learned, and lived, and loved, Far from where you began I swear on stars above You can you can you can
Some nice imagery here.
Chin up.... You are awesome!
