Lyrics

It’s the ghost of my mistakes It’s that knock I never answer That bill I never paid It’s a slow and silent cancer of the choices that I made

Every promise that I’m making feels like words I never said With a weight I take to bed, they whisper in the morning and hang over my head

Pre-Chorus Every silver lining turns to gray When I think it’s gone, it stays

Chorus Yeah, it’s hanging over my head Like a sky about to fall Every word left unsaid hanging over my head

There’s a shadow on the ceiling where the cracks begin to spread That clock I can’t rewind Breathing down the back of my mind

With the echo of a deadline, everything starts to shake Now the sky’s turning red As the dawn pounds my head

Chorus Yeah, it’s hanging over my head Like a sky about to fall Every word left unsaid hanging over my head

No more hanging over my head No more hanging over my head

The Ghost of My Mistakes is such a great line (and title!) You've got some great visuals here in the lyrics. I like the "every silver lining turns grey" line. Great way to undo a cliche. Nice job.

These are such solid well crafted lyrics. I feel the ominous weight of those things you describe hanging over you. I like the image of "the shadow on the ceiling where the cracks begin to spread". The lightness of the music is a direct counterpoint to the lyrics - which makes it all the more interesting.
