Liner Notes

#rock I just wanted to rock out when I improvised the outro and now I wish I built a whole song around that riff. I guess I still can. Maybe my next track

Lyrics

The shadows drain from old photographs And i can feel the love come back The venom fades away And everything's okay again

The clarity it feels surreal Is it true that it just needs healing If you wronged me You were young and lonely

I face my worst fears And I forgive the lost years Can I keep my eyes open And remember love

Sun rays on my face Warm my yesterdays But everything's a race Against looming betrayal

The faith restoring my memories Takes cuts from every treachery I can only be so strong Not much longer

I faced my worst fears And I forgave the lost years Can’t keep my eyes open The ghosts were always coming back

I was too lost to return We tried every single verse When the road seemed forever clear Dread was sneaking from the rear

And I can never Deny that I will Find a reason to Hide

I faced my worst fears And forgave the last years Please keep my eyes open And remember

There are lots of good ideas in here. Moody verses. Strong chorus, and I really like how the it feeds me a sugary major-key runthrough followed by a more sour, minor-key finish. (and is the final chorus augmented yet again? very cool, anyway.) The outro kinda takes me back to mid-90s Pumpkins/Soundgarden. And awesome guitar tones throughout. I love how the ROCK delivers hard during the second verse!
