Liner Notes

#acousticrock #skirmish A metaphor for something that actually happened today.

Lyrics

They’re tearing the building down Nothing I can do But honest to God this place Was built for World War 2

They’re tearing the building down But they couldn’t come right out and say it It was written like a ransom note And no one could ever pay it

27 days Get everything out 27 days And I just found out

They’re tearing the building down All that history gone But honestly it’s time For us all to be moving on

They’re tearing the building down So who am I today When I look in the mirror That’s what I take away

27 days Get everything out 27 days And I just found out

There won’t be much crying over the past Now it’s time to build something that’s going to last This is the end Don’t look back

27 days Get everything out 27 days And I just found out

They’re tearing the building down

You can hear the distress from the moment you start playing. Such intensity in the verses, but also in the melodic lift of the choruses. It's a real panic. I hope 27 days is enough time for everyone to get their safety nets in place.

Great take on the skirmish prompt! I hope whatever was torn down, removed or whatever turned out ok for you.

I was getting all upset about you having to deal with this during FAWM - then I re-read your liner notes and noticed the word "metaphor" - Phew! Great lyrics - these really stood out to me "They’re tearing the building down But they couldn’t come right out and say it It was written like a ransom note And no one could ever pay it"

Great song about something happening to you outside of your control and a chance to start something new. I really like the melody - very memorable. Great skirmish!!

Great work for a skirmish! I like the imagery, and it reminds me of the early 70s protest songs (yeah, I'm that old). This could be a metaphor for many things, and so it's relatable in multiple ways. Well done!
