I'm back for a little bit. This song is fully written, it's singable and I can personally sing it in a way that works. I just haven't got around to pressing record on the vocals yet. Er, my wife heard me rehearse the vocals and wanted to talk about it, so I know it's probably quite good.

Anyway, I just wanted you all to know I'm doing better than a week or so ago.

Yesterday after the FAWM Zoom call, I programmed one very basic beat on the PO12, the simplest drum machine I've got, using only the top row of buttons apart from messing around with it during recording. The PO12 can do much more than this, but this is what I needed. I recorded a single take of guitar over it and that at least got me out of my rut. I may record whatever else I manage to write in the back half of February the same way, because the idea of doing full productions right now is turning me off from even getting started, and that's the opposite of what FAWM is about. THIS process, I'm enjoying even if I haven't quite got this song in the can.
