The Wind (Brush Your Hair)
Liner Notes
Born of the open windy prairie landscape of Brookings, South Dakota, both members of The Broke Kings actually met on the East Coast, where life had brought them. Given the unique geographical origin of both members, a name was born: The Broke Kings (of Brookings). Brian Dixon and David Melby-Gibbons enjoy working together (so far mostly “behind the scenes”) on hymns, choral works, poems, and songs.
This is their first FAWM appearance, albeit just with a tidbit here.
This arrangement and EQ is a bit experimental, which hopefully only adds to the playfulness of Brian’s poem!
David sings and plays #ukulele on this
Lyrics
The wind is the world moving. It’s the space between “here.” and “where?” It’s the weight and whisper of every, “How much longer?” And, it’s charged when you brush your hair.

I love this. It’s almost like you can feel the wind. The song feels “airy”. You prove that one can be very effective with simple melodic effects and lyrics .
I like the way the vocal melody and the ukulele counterpoint each other. Lovely arrangement - it does sound like wind. Vocal approach reminds me a little of Radiohead.
