Liner Notes

Some neofolk kind of stuff this time around. The bass might bring some post-punk to the equation as well.

Lyrics

Kirjoitan tähän maisemaan Kaikuihin salatut merkit Hautaan ne tuuliin Jotta voit ne löytää

Kuulin, jossain vielä Toivo huokaa Jään tähän vartioon Jotta voit sen löytää

Translation:

I will write to this landscape Hidden signs in the echoes I will bury them into the winds So you can find them

Somewhere, I heard Hope still whispers I will stay and stand guard here So you can find it

Have you ever heard the song Voices by Borknagar? I’ve always wanted to hear more of that folk/metal sounds and this is exactly it. Especially when the bass comes in.

Cheers for the comments! For several years now I've planned on making a neofolk/post-punk/black metal/ambient/dungeon synth solo project, but so far I haven't gotten around to actually get the idea going, so no solo stuff streaming anywhere currently. A few of my bands have stuff streaming, but they're all more or less black metal kind of stuff. Out of my bands, Hollow Woods might be the most to your liking based on these comments, as on the latest album "Like Twisted Bones of Fallen Giants" we added lots of acoustic guitars to the whole. Still mostly black metal, though! I believe you can find the album in any streaming service. It's at least on Spotify and Tidal. Here's links to my other projects as well, just in case, heh: Hoc est Bellum (bestial black/death, full-length coming out later this year): https://hocestbellum.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2023 Loputon Suo (atmospheric and melodic black/death): https://loputonsuo.bandcamp.com/

I love Borknagar, especially the first two albums, but I haven't listened to the most latest ones after Vintersorg left. While I like Vortex's voice, over the years I've come to the conclusion that I like his vocals more as a spice here and there. As a lead vocalist I kind of get tired of his voice.

Whoa what is this? I’m so into it do you have music on streaming? I want more.

Folk is definately there, and singing style already gives punk/post-punk vibes. Nice folky melody in my opinion, and that driving pulse with acoustic guitars makes this feel almost transcendental.

Cheers for the comment, mate!
