In 2024, I wrote 35 songs during FAWM. I just matched that -- my most productive year.
Hey now!
Lyrics
I told you that I loved you and I told you a lie You told me that you cared for me and we gave it a try I know the cost of love and loss, must be the reason why I told you that I loved you and I told you a lie
I told you that I loved you because my love is true I didn't want to hurt you so I lied a little, too Bridges burn, a lesson learned, some things you just keep quiet I told you that I loved you and I told you a lie
I told you a lie when I said I never would I looked you in the eye to see if could But that one look was all it took, I sure was in a bind When I told you that I loved you and I told you a lie
I told you that I loved you and I told you a lie You told me that you cared for me and we gave it a try Love and loss, we paid the cost, why baby why baby why Did I tell you that I love you and then tell you that lie
I told you that I loved you Would put no one else above you I told you that I loved you and I told you a lie

I did wonder about just calling this "I Told You a Lie." The longer title seems more in the classic country tradition.
