Liner Notes

inspiration comes from unexpected places. This time, i found it in a statement from the absolutely batsh*t Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina, who once dropped this bit of wisdom in the midst of some crazy rant:

"Let the bridges i burn this evening light our way forward"

Stopped clocks, etc. Anyway, that led to this.

Lyrics

one upon a time one needed nurtured once upon a time one needed help lessons in building the foundation of what would become the self

the time together started pleasant the time together started sure laid the substrate for a lifetime of relationships both productive and mature

eventually one spreads the wings eventually one's world would open wide The status quo it needed to evolve no longer met what was required

refusal to accept what they'd become refusal to accept the need for change resist recognition of the new reality for the good of all, was best to walk away

let's let the bridges being burned light the way ahead look for the path out of this trauma in it's glow why should one hang on to connections that drain instead of fill it may be painful but it's best to let it go

reflection showed it was a long time coming reflection showed many fundamental flaws invested time and effort to address the need met with denial of the reasons, of the cause

leaving it behind was the solution in the end leaving it behind was the only way to start anew to mourn what was desired, though never really was to come to terms with uncomfortable truths

to forgive is not a decision to forget to forgive is not to offer absolution but a decision to release the hold imposed by pain Allow to heal, giving up illusions

the wound was deep, but eventually it scarred the wound was deep, but became stronger over time became a permanent reminder of the lessons learned a challenge faced by which a person is defined

let's let the bridges being burned light the way ahead look for the path out of this trauma in it's glow why should one hang on to connections that drain instead of fill it may be painful but it's best to let it go

That’s a great title and the rest of the writing is equally clever. Great work dude!
