A while ago, I was at Stansted Airport (for my sins), and the saxophonous squeals of the unlubricated escalators in the reverberant hall caught my ear. I made a recording on my phone. This "song" is that recording, chopped and looped. I think it captures the mixture of boredom, anxiety and despair you find in a low-budget airport rather well. #skirmish #airport #foundSound #noise

This is so cool! An absolutely glorious take on the prompt and a great use of found sound. I feel the despair and anxiety kick in at about 0.50 and I go "oh thank god I'm not currently travelling".

I remember these escalators!! Well captured. I really like this. The mood of a low budget airport in 1 min 27 seconds.

Very cool use of captured sound! I hear music in the world all the time. I wish I captured them and used them like this more often.

There have been many times I heard a cool sound and didn't capture it, but with a modern smartphone it's easier. My tip is to make sure you have a sound recorder set up on your phone to record in stereo, in high quality, and with noise suppression turned off, easily accessible for occasions like this.
