Liner Notes

An ancient spacecraft tumbles through the void, carrying messages from its civilization of origin...

This demo is going to be a track on the soundtrack of my upcoming solo indie game.

I made this entirely on the Ableton Move and haven't had a chance to edit it on the computer, hence the demo designation. Its essence and sound will very much remain the same in the final version; I just want to make sure the rhythms end up aligned properly and tie up a few loose ends.

I love the old-school sound to this, very trippy, makes me want to play the video game...although I don't play games much these days. Just stuck some headphones in, great stereo width and space to the sound too.

The samples doing the lifting of kick and snare are perfect for the space theme. The lead synth evokes a sense of curiosity and wonder. I think you hit where you were aiming.

You ever play Fez? This immediately makes me think of Fez.

I really appreciate the experience and the experimentation that’s natural for composing instrumental tracks that stand alone in the capsule of a visual media and competing for space.

OK, you'll have to tell me more about the video game sometime my friend.

I like how there's just a hint of Star Trek (original series) to this music while also not sounding like it. This should work just fine, especially when you've refined it to your liking, in an indie game!
