Lyrics

Of course the sky is gray It's the day after Valentine's Day Don't ask if I'm okay I'm not okay Sometimes the sky is blue Yeah, I can relate to that sky too Just then, as if on cue The sun breaks through

The sun breaks through the clouds Just like it's doing now The sun breaks through the rain Again and again The sun breaks through the pain When nothing else can Ooh, the sun breaks through

Of course I feel this way It's the day after Valentine's Day I don't know what else to say What can I say? I fell in love with you I fell into the darkness, too When I question the truth The sun breaks through

Cool song. Great lyrics. Nice to hear something different in relation to that whole thing.

Good guitar work! I felt I could inhabit this song a bit, feeling the hangover of (presumably) a lonely valentine's day - Either that or it was a day of pure craziness! The most distinctive quality of this song was the little guitar runs between the sung lines - they were very effective - in a way I felt like you were doing acoustically what Jimmy Page does in black dog, with the guitar doing a call and response with the vocals

Your vocals--the emotion, the acceptance, the overall vibe--are so terrific here, really selling the lyrics. Although the excellent and dramatic guitar (those low tones are awesome) really propel this too. I really like the slow-burn of this song, the intensity combined with folksy charm; it all just works.
