#alternatetuning #instrumental #classicrock #rock #needsvocals Guitar tuning: DDDDAD. The tuning for this was inspired by the CSNY tuning on Carry On, which was EEEEBE. I was actually messing around with DADDAD and then just tuned down to DDDDAD and started messing around. And the whole reason I was messing around with this tuning is... my brother passed away last year and he was very instrumental in the music my siblings and I listen to. At the time, my sister was talking about an album she and my brother loved - Déjà Vu (by CSNY). So I started to listen to it (don't ask me why I had never paid much attention to it before)... and I fell in love with it.
My brother had blue eyes.
This is an instrumental for now, but happy if anyone would like to put some lyrics/vocals to this.

This has some wonderful movement - and a nice "different" sound, in part I assume, from the rarity of this tuning in the wild. I don't recall the song song you reference, and have, myself, never really gave Deja Vu much time. I really like the whole feel here. And it's played, wonderfully. Sorry about losing your brother.

I like it! Nice vibes to that strumming. A very good example of what alternate tuning can do. Nice one! Feels like it's about something, but I can't quite figure out what.

Digging it. Its almost like 12 string effect with the 4 strings tuned to the same note. Sounds excellent to my ears. I liking the bass and drums with it too! Might have to try that tuning down the road.

I never knew that about Carry On...what an interesting tuning. Really gives the guitar a really unique color. Lovely tribute to your brother, and cheers to his good taste in music!
