Remember that time we met back east We were not so different then We had our friends, we had our fun, we whistled in the wind We moved around, we moved apart, We moved into ourselves We bunkered down, and stared around, and lined up on our shelves

After fifteen years, we met again And the difference was here to stay We still had fun, and reminisced, but the wall could get in the way We went back home in a couple of days, Swearing to do it again But life took over, over and over, and our imaginations made it plain

Now the grandchildren are growing up In a very different way They do the modern things, they try out their wings You can’t tell if they’ll go or stay And the older they get you can start to see Even though they’re not all the same That they really couldn’t be so different in that crazy difference game
