I’ve been trying to expand my Robot and AI commentary songs. Hope you enjoy it, including the hella scuffed solos.

@jeremykazoo I did the thing

Lyrics

Phone is telling me to lose my mind Recent research shows some scientist would think it’s fine I don’t plan to make decisions on my own Too many I don’t knows, I get confused and rummage for my phone

Calculator compass. Call ID. Email female finding ways to shame my family AI agent at my Beck and call Anything but staring at the plain white walls

The whole world disappears Craning neck and eyes are locked Started in the morning Now it’s close to 4 o’clock Who needs friends or enemies? Got faceless usernames Were sitting here and lying to each other Like we’re in a poker game

Phone is telling me to pick her up Browse for local singles Find some liquor for my cup There’s a couple deals tailored just for me Based on browsing data on my tendencies

Dearest darling Siri stuck around Studied all my moves so we could find some common ground Gives me what I need without delay I might have to get a ring and wife her up someday

The whole world disappears Craning neck and eyes are locked Started in the morning now it’s close to 4 o’clock Who needs friends or enemies? I got a robot wife Loving me forever, her entire battery life

.. who needs friends or enemies I got my favorite box Serving me, my favorite fix Until I join the rocks

Well, this is my introduction to punkgrass. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the subject is slightly atypical for the genre, but the lyric feels so at home I wouldn't be surprised either way.

There are some amazing lines here that show off both the wit and inherent musicality of the words. I love Email female finding ways to shame my family and Who needs friends or enemies? /I got a robot wife / Loving me forever, her entire battery life, but the whole thing bounces along like a toddler on their grandpappy's knee.

I dig the kazoo, of course - and I think you've used it just sparingly enough that it matches the light wryness of the lyrics. It's not a song to take too seriously, but a message that one absolutely should.

I wanna say it’s totally not a genre at all but I can’t help but just hashtag nonsense until it sticks. I think that's just my madness in the methods at work. It’s had zero use or engagement so I’m just gonna be cavalier in my use of it.

With that said, man, I appreciate a titled word smith perusing my prose and giving it a positive review. Your description of the music sounding bouncy as a kid on pappy’s knee while giving the nod to the commentary is validating as that is my usual approach - light on the sound, heavy in the poetry. Thanks for giving this FAWMling your attention!

You have single-handedly made me a fan of punkgrass!

Amazing song. There are so many great moments, but I especially like the "Loving me forever, her entire battery life" line. Haha.

I don’t know if punkgrass is a genre (I guess thrashgrass is?) but it was’t a hashtag so I’m out here trendsetting

Thanks for enjoying it!

WHAT'S THIS I HEAR? A kazoo to you!

YES. I AM UNCHAINED — I HAVE THE POWER NOW 🦆🦆🦆

Edit: The guitar tracking definitely wore me out after a few takes haha I need to start working out again to keep up with my demanding guitar 🥵

Some great lyrics here, and trenchant social commentary. I particularly like the lines "we're sitting here and lying to each other/Like we're in a poker game." Also some really nice guitar and kazoo work in there. I enjoyed it.
