You Said...

First up - F Bombs galore. Kind of a morning skirmish..trying to get the motor running at 4:30AM or so ๐ The initial - very F Bomb heavy, chorus or bridge..or pre-chorus, or whatever the heck it is, was the origin mantra (I was working some things out LOL), and realistically, if this song is ever finished, it would likely be dropped... but it was so healing to sing this morning, I had to leave it in. (Oh, and, my wife and I are fine..she is not involved here.) Early morning Tascam grab (with some "sweetening" added.) #antiValentine #FBombsGalore #acousticonetake
Lyrics
"You Said..."
F You, F Me, F Everybody x 2
I'm never going be the one to lie for you I'm never going to be the one, that does all those things you want me to You said we'd make it work, and things would change Yet, here we stand, nothing's changed...it's all the same
You said, you said, you said... x 2
F You, F Me, F Everybody x 2
I'm never going to be the one to die for your sins You never should have opened the door, and let me in Now that I'm here, well, I think I may stay Turns out, it's you, that needs to to go away, you need to go away.
F You, F Me, F Everybody x 2
You said, you said, you said... x 4

Nice. These lyrics work well with the guitar progression. Nice work!
Hard to pull off a song with this language without it coming across as too harsh or offensive but I think you toe that line perfectly. Like the 1+1 arrangement. Vocals and guitar both sound great.
Thanks you for listening (it was oddly freeing, singing those words at a ridiculously early hour ๐)
Really digging this one. The melody flows so naturally, which makes that confrontational lyric hit even harder. Thereโs a great tension between the smooth acoustic feel and the blunt honesty of the words. The baritone vocal gives it a bit of a Johnny Cash vibe too, raw and direct but still controlled.
Thank you for the listen and kind words (Iโm taking a JC name drop as a win ๐)
Some days are like that, some mornings are like that; this feels very stream-of-consciousness to me. Agreed if you want the general release might be good to tweak some of the f bombs, even just if to the little cousin "F you, F me, etc." Lyrically an exploration of a relationship that didn't quite work out, along with a little Jesus-imagery to add some flair.
