Lyrics

Take one last drag of my cigarette I've got plenty to regret Breathe in one last billowing smoke Oh, this life's got to be a joke

I had a dream we're all floating away sleeping on clouds like we are okay I had a dream something was wrong But all I could do was sing a song

Curling my toes under the dirt It will take lifetimes to heal all the hurt Breathe in one last fresh flowery scent Wondering what, if anything, all of this meant

Stay awake or go to sleep The mountains to rugged, wide, and steep And now I've been smoking for thousands of years Through a crack in the earth That nobody hears

Could this be about anything A rotary telephone about to ring and if it's nostalgia that we need then go back to lighting up, slowing down speed

'And now I've been smoking for thousands of years' is a great line...like a volcano laying dormant. Enjoying this geological metaphor.

This is so sad, feels like the song at the end of anything, or everything? I was hooked from the opening chords. The murky piano sound brings me in, and your voice wraps me up. Love the smoking metaphor.

Some very cool sensory imagery here, the rotary telephone, billowing smoke followed by calling out clouds, flowery scents, etc. I love the stream of consciousness feel I get from the delivery.

I really like these lyrics; they paint an effective emotional picture. The performance is also excellent. I enjoyed my listen.
