I've been struggling with writing lyrics as I'm a bit of a perfectionist so thought I'd challenge myself to write something in half an hour.. I did go over a bit but did it in under an hour, so not perfect haha but it's a song! yay! Also had fun practising singing in a slightly higher register.. shall I do more of this or no?!

When writing this I was thinking about Mr Darcy (specifically how he is portrayed by Colin Firth in the BBC adaption) when expressing his love to Elizabeth!

The BBC Pride and Prej... YES!! That is the correct version, Serene 😆 Unfortunately it means I can only hear your beautiful, lilting love song to an image of Colin Firth emerging from a lake in a massive white shirt. Which maybe undercuts the quiet emotional intensity of the words. Fabulous 30-minute write all the same - excellent work!

Yup the register is great. Really good words to describe this kind of love. i do like light and shade but i like this song in the light! i think you can still create in one register with loudness and softness which you do here!

Beautiful Serene. Look how good you are pumping out a song when you just get after it. I really like the higher register vocals but I think I like it most in contrast vs staying in the higher register. Your voice in the "Keeping quiet..." bit sounds so spot on to my ear. Just so lovely. I prefer hearing you sing mostly in that range with the periodic visit to the higher register. That way you get the contrast and the beautiful effect for emphasis when desired. Just my two cents...

Really nice voice and song! It's even more impressive for being written in less than an hour. There are plenty of songs that took a lot longer to write that aren't even half as good. Well done!
