Liner Notes

Another quick interlude, this one is about you guessed it getting executed, well not exactly, it is a metaphor for oppression or something.

Lyrics

I was at the last public execution The guy got hanged for speaking his truth The crowd went wild for what they believed was The state upholding the truths they foolishly believed

I was at the last public execution The guy got hanged for speaking his truth And I remember the look in his eyes Saying "I'll be haunting all of you"

I was at the last public execution The guy that got hanged, was me The crowd went wild for what they believed was The state upholding the truths they foolishly believed

Good hook which immediately piques my interest as a listener - good little story and "reveal" at the end - the music sounds good so the way the words are running over the lines makes me think this is a clever, disorienting technique that had the desired effect - I guess the lyrics leave so many questions unanswered (like what was the truth he spoke, what location or era are we talking about)? And I guess all those open questions make the song haunting in itself. Nice job - I listened a couple of times and enjoyed it
