Liner Notes
Got a new Amp sim recently, Neural DSPs NollyX, this started as just trying out different settings and tones with it but might turn into something that could be something.

Oh thanks! Maybe subconsciously, I love that sound but was thinking more of Built To Spill, especially towards the end. (Which it sounds nothing like, but the kind of spiralling melodies and layering he does is a great inspiration). I thought the presets in NollyX was quite disappointing, mostly geared towards metal and sounded all a bit same-y to me.. but the clean amp is really good. I also find that the sensitivy in NeuralDSPs amps is much higher than Amplitube which I've used mostly, so gainstaging and tweaking the input signal seems more important. I can get a great breakup tone in NollyX clean amp but it easily gets too overdriven and messy with just a slight change in input volume.
Sounds really good. Rich, edgy, crisp and brutal. So many subtle touches and layers of sonic craftsmanship. Scruffy in the finest sense of the word.
Thanks Pete. Brutal too? Interesting, I felt I took away a little too much of the original rawness with reverb etc but that's good. There's a few additional parts that didn't make it, will try to expand it further later on.
Oh yeah, this is cool! Love the tones. Works great with the toms. Great transitions to each part. That bass too. It just sounds great!
Thank you, good to hear!
this sounds really promising. it might just be me, but it has something of early 90s "the cure" in the spiralling guitar lines? i like the stuttering//flowing beats too. NollyX is a great amp sim but i'm very lazy and tend to use presets... unlike me, it sounds like you clearly know what you're doing!!
