Keep Going, Keep Moving

Liner Notes
From @kahlo2013: starting down a new path and need to pay the price for past decisions on the old path to move forward on the new; should have started the new path much sooner … but better late than never?
Definitely a touch of the mid-90s Keane about this one.
Liz says: thanks @daveyboy103 for creating this great song - I love the upbeat pop feel! Great sound! It will be my new motivation song!!!!!
Lyrics
V1 up against the clock making up for lost time paying for mistakes made throughout life….
one cannot go back to do over things but can move ahead change what life brings …
C no more excuses no more abuses no more ignoring causalities …..
no more defenses no more regressions no more avoiding realities….
V2 up against a edge set sights on new goals carve out the best paths that lead to better homes…
journeys can be long with detours and breaks no matter the start lean in all the way…
C no more excuses no more abuses no more ignoring causalities …..
no more defenses no more regressions no more avoiding realities….
B keep going keep going don’t be afraid…. keep moving keep moving win your own race…
C no more excuses no more abuses no more ignoring causalities …..
no more defenses no more regressions no more avoiding realities….

A lot to love in here - rich vocals, sterling 80s production, and the mantra like chorus and bridge willing themselves onto a new path. Fab collab
Oh yeah, this is fantastic. It's really soothing my 80's itch for bands such as Deacon Blue and the like. Awesome. Now it's my turn.
Can't wait...
Oh this is nice! As usual, top-notch Liz lyrics, and musical style and delivery (David!) that fits them to a tee! This is so totally 80s, that I almost started to dance like I was 30!☺️ Thanks, both of you, for a 4 minute and 20 second walk down memory lane.❤️
You are most welcome.
Vocal is smooth like butter! Cool vibes on this. I love the theme, which I already commented on when this was just lyrics, but yeah, very inspirational. I like the retro sound. So cool!
I’m a child of the 80s
Not my sort of music but the quality of production and arrangement is first class, with the exception of the percussion which was a little loud and a little inferior compared to the rest of the backing according to listening through my Bose head phones
Many thanks for you feedback
That chorus!!! I can’t help but smile and dance and snap my fingers! And that background sax - perfect! Wonderful collaboration. Thanks for getting me moving this morning :-)
You.are very welcome Karen
Love the sound of the chorus, the delay/doubling really works in it. Perfect music for the hopeful lyrics. Somewhat 'yacht rock' (nothing wrong with that) like some of the 90s bands like Ambrosia and Toto. Sax work is great again!
Yes! This is awesome! The driving bass and percussion grabbed me right from the start and the grip tightened with every piece of candy sprinkled from there. This fits perfect with the retro 80s thing going on, and could easily be on The Weekend's next album. Stellar vocal performance and treatment. Perfect chord choices, nothing too zany or non-diatonic to break the spell, but all with an emotional purpose. Stellar melody throughout.
When I scanned the lyric ahead of listening, I misread "causalities" as "casualties". I was so happy when the song got there and I realized my mistake. That is such a killer line and overall message. Learning to take life on its own terms was a big hurdle of mine as a grew into adulthood, so this hit the sweet spot for me.
Outstanding work. Really something special here.
Thank you so much, I made the same mistake on first read through with causalities but what a perfect word choice from @kahlo2013
Certainly in a 80s groove currently, but then I was there first time around and so I was forged in that fire.
I like the gentle, declarative feel of this. Somehow, for me, it gives it even more power. Glad I saw this. I particularly like "Win your own race." Great collab.
