#banjo #fire #smoke #wood In the Netherlands, we live together in a small country. I really enjoy lighting my wood-burning stove, but there are rules in Amsterdam. In some cities, it is even prohibited. We have a national app that indicates whether the air quality and weather conditions are optimal for wood burning, so that it doesn't bother anyone. Unfortunately, it has been foggy and damp lately π

Amsterdam is one of the areas where many people complain.

Lyrics
Code green When the air is clear and the windβs between Code green
No one closing windows tight Just a calm and peaceful night Code green
I light the fire the night begins The wood is dry the cold creeps in I love that glow that crackling sound but I know the smoke hangs low around
Code green When the air is clear and the windβs between Code green
No one closing windows tight Just a calm and peaceful night Code green
Itβs not about the flame alone the coziness that warms my home But in this town the air can stay and what I burn might drift their way
Code green When the air is clear and the windβs between Code green
No one closing windows tight Just a calm and peaceful night Code green
I know the resistance has grown so I check the sky I check my phone The stars are bright the breeze is right so I can strike that match tonight
Code green Code green Code green Code green

Great song Max. Relaxed and a bit sad as well. These Dutch rules. The banjo fits perfectly with the theme. Btw: at the Waddenshore we can still burn wood like crazy. Next time you come here weβll do that.
Lekker fikkie stoken. Yes please, looking forward.

I love the lyrics..love a nice fireplace, wish I had one. Lately in our state, particularly in summer, we have a no "outside fires" ( burning rubbish or campfires) due to drought and the possibility of massive fires. Two summers ago, Canada had massive fires that reached our air in Delaware, south of NY. It was so foggy and air quality so bad they recommended staying indoors. I like this played on the banjo. It was a very nice balance of homey, not too sad but with the vocal line somewhat serious, which is unusual for banjo songs.
Love me a slice of factual storytelling Max, and this really hits the spot. Catchy banjo action too

As one who lives out in the country and relies in part on a wood stove for heat I feel you! There's something about a fire. This has a lovely wistful nostalgic hopefulness. Looking for code green in a lot of places.
