I wrote and recorded the instrumentation for this already on the 1st of Feb but got stuck with the lyrics before I had to call it a night to make it to work in the morning. The work week sucked ass and I had little time, energy and inspiration during that time to write. I managed to write the majority of another song but the lyrics of this one were finished on the 10th and I finally got to recording the vocals last night, as that is the one thing I can’t record at home at this point. Mixing was left for this morning, but now it’s finally done.

Theme-wise, I meant to go for some brainless metal imagery, but it turned into a sort of commentary about how political violence is only socially acceptable when perpetrated by the ruling class. Coincidentally, there was an incident in Italy (I think) recently, where a protester beat a cop with a hammer. I don’t know all the details about that but my point is we should all be more outraged about the violence perpetrated by the ones in power upon those not in power.

As an additional detail, this recording features the first ever recorded growls by my fiancée. She tried out her pipes just to give it a shot and sounded great right off the bat.
