Liner Notes

bit of an edgy one (ᵕ—ᴗ—) bit of a messier one too, wanted to finish something up a little faster and give myself some room/leeway as im gonna be away from my computer for a couple days over CNY. first time using my actual irl voice this FAWM too!! im glad i used it on smth weird and low effort to get myself to actually use my voice. this one reminds me a lot of safest bunny in the world by janis lago, it thought of it while recording. i think another inspo was probabbllyy the ethel cain album i listened to last month? even tho i wasnt a huge fan of that album, u spend 90 minutes listening to smth and its gonna leak in somehow. been listening to mostly hyperpop since then though so. shrug. #noise #ambient #furry

Lyrics

try to leave it to your capable hands but capable hands wouldn't need so much patting on the back

drafting apology letters drafting a distress call drown out the drafting finding a way to withdraw

told to keep my stance, my hands behind my back not given a chance, while you insist it was all laid out

drafting apology letters drafting a distress call drowning out the drafting finding a way to withdraw

i have felt the breaking, spell out again, turn to clockwork passivity, an end to a thought process of defence, nothings left, no one in here to witness the way it ekes i have been so empty when you thought you were speaking such a lesson to me, nothing to get through to, all left is failsafes to avoid a distress call releasing

I'm absolutely loving these vocals. Great singing for a dog, I gotta say. That static is messing with my head in my headphones. Which is a good thing. Sounds like some sort of bubbling electronic lava. Haha yeah, great vocals! So glitchy!! Excellent work here for sure.

I really enjoy this one. The space and textures in this song, they create context and contrast to the lyrics really well. I'm really curious, if you're willing to answer - how many tracks does this song have? There's so much happening yet it blends so well, I'm so amazed.

20 tracks, which is about average for these FAWM tracks for me. theres actually more percussion tracks than anything else (7), with vocals a close second (5). a lot of the more of the noise elements comes from 1. one of the percussion tracks (the repetitive kickish sound that is more texture than beat playing throughout the track) glitch effects being added and/or intensified, 2. phone recording i took of raining by the side of a road put through reverb and a plugin called sunburnt + a graphical waveshaper in the second 'drowning out' section. even just these 2 things make a lot of texture and layers, and then the vocals tie it together i think, esp since they have a similar glitch effect to the kickish sound, making them sorta subtly stutter in the same way

Such amazing textures <3 The messiness works in favor of this track I think, adds to the "drowning out" vibes really well. I love the noises here, the skittering and crackling is unsettling in the best way. The buried vocals add so much to the lyric message. I love your voice when it comes out of the noise toward the end! I'm curious which EC album you listened to- Perverts? Great work!!!
