burned out IT guy blues

Liner Notes
Fitting in with this year's unofficial pattern of writing down whatever i'm feeling on a given morning, here's another one.
Also, last night's dreams included a long-forgotten memory of the Simpsons' "Moanin' Lisa Blues", which is what basically informed this.
Lyrics
woke up this morning ten minutes before the alarm too much work to ignore it, there's data I've got to transform still hold onto inertia for a minute or four body's not ready for exertion two many meetings I've got to endure
just sit coding the queries for the reports they ignore one more step in this series of meaningless tasks I've got to endure don't wanna get too productive, give the bosses their due make processes too instructive gets me nothin' but more work to do!
my transmission's ain't workin' motor's spinnin' no drive to the rear shifter ain't grabbin' nothin' I can't get my ass into gear I got no motivation nothin' there to inspire base level participation until I'm allowed to retire I'm so ground down wish I had the get-up-and-go to shout
so burnt out not sure that I'll ever rebound

It’s a morning that I know a lot of people can resonate with. I love the verse that spoke about your transmission and need to retire.
"just sit coding the queries for the reports they ignore" Feeling that. Feeling it hard.
