The Shortest Distance to Nowhere
Liner Notes
For part of this, I used a random chord generator to give me a series of chords. Then I added as many chords as wanted in-between those series of chords/melody to get fluidly to the next chord. It's kind of a fun way to break yourself from the same patterns you always use. Plus I like taking two unrelated parts and finding ways to connect them.
I recorded the piano parts without metronome to give a more natural fluid feel to it, but also to drive myself a bit batty when I started the other parts.
It's supposed to be a bit meandering, with I view only on the present and what comes immediately ahead, evolving slightly from step to step.
Lack of repetition illigitimizes, I guess.

this is really beautiful and using a random chord generator is a cool idea that gave excellent results. i'm a big fan of music with little to no repetition so the constantly evolving structure is one of my favorite aspects
I really enjoy both the dissonance at times and how your melody/passing chords minimize the dissonance. Nice work!
Thanks!
This is so fun! I love the feeling of not knowing where the harmony is going, but trying to retro-actively make sense of it all.
