The Human Mess
Liner Notes

Lyrics
Now if I had the time - I’d be unmessin’ everyone’s mind And if I had the space, I’d reorganize the whole human race But the time we have just seems to get shorter And the space around keeps gettin’ filled with contorters All the people around don’t know which end is down And the people on top just let the money go round and round
Finding a way to impress This whole human mess
Now if you’ve got two wackies, and you asked them or their handlers or lackies Why they do what they do, and if it makes them happy or gets them blue And they’ll have a drink and they’ll have one more And you might be thinking they’ll be a bore And they’ll get lost explaining some other thing Until they look just like a puppet on a string
But they’re only dealing with the stress Of being in the whole human mess
Bridge: Now I’m feeling like I don’t have much to say About being mad or sane or any other which way About whether I should like you or tell you to go away About whether it’s time to sing or cry or stomp or pray
Or go into a full court press Against this whole human mess
Now next time you’re in town, let’s find some time to hang around Don’t need any special thrill, find a place to be chill We may be crazier than some people we know But me and thee still have some facts to show But if we try this and try that and try just a little more We might get a glimpse of something else in store
Other than tearing our hair out in distress About this stupid human mess Don’t need no skeleton in fancy dress To save you from this human mess
The song captures such a great live at a venue. Sort of vibe. In a way I've never heard from a song on here before.
This lyric is very relevant and addresses many things that I've been thinking about lately. They sure keep us busy so we can't solve the problem that's for sure.
