Leslie

Liner Notes

Had this thought on my way home today, about how much as a teenager I yearned for a Leslie speaker to record with (cause I'm a nerd), but I couldn't afford one. And I thought about how I kinda let that dream go as an adult, and how that could be made into kind of a sad love song.

Then I started relating that to people in real life, and personified Leslie into a character in this story.

Then I made it into kind of a country song, and added swirly lead guitars here and there that emulate that spinning speaker sound I always strive for. #leslie #indiefolk #altcountry

Lyrics

Leslie You ran from me When I needed you Leslie Building my future with you Wishes come true But I couldn’t put you through

Saw you, for a minute or two With my name on you Painted Perfect picture of Things I should do To be with you Maybe not think it through Leslie

How could you’ve known? With all you were shown? You gave it all you had I wish you could see That this had to be For it to make me a man Leslie

Maybe If we wait and see We could come out too But how could, we have known That it would lead us to You being you And me being me all through, Leslie

This is a good idea for a song. Pretty sure we did have a Leslie when you were little, but it must have been gotten rid of by the time you were old enough to start caring about guitar. Anyhow, super vibey - I dig it.

I feel like that memory is there… deeeeep down.

I guess REALLY wanting to own a Leslie is just a universal musician thing because I was obsessed with wanting one for soo long too 😂 really love the laid back drums! I feel like that acoustic has just the right amount of spank to low end body ratio for this, very well done 💚 also the slap back on those vocals is very vibey and gives the track a nice motion

Really cool song about the one that got away. Fun!

I am really enjoying your wonderful guitar playing, and the layered guitars. Cool inspiration for a song - and very nice story telling. I enjoy a sad love song! Catchy melody and your vocals sound great! I have never heard of those speakers. I have Adam Audio T8Vs that I actually won during the pandemic through Adam Audio - kind of amazing.

Really nice track and vocal! I like the melody and guitar playing. The funny thing is, I had never even heard of Leslie speakers. Shows how much I know about gear, but then again, I've always been more of an acoustic player and didn't really need any. Nice song though!
