Don't Tell Tina
by @jacobwakeup
Liner Notes
This song is about my bike, a Bianchi Cortina. I love it dearly. But I don't ride it in the winter. And I feel really guilty.
I got really caught up (read: distracted) with production. Originally it was going to be a big power-pop song. Then I thought it could be a 60s pastiche. And then I couldn't make that work. And here's where we landed.
Lyrics
Don’t tell Tina I’ve been thinking about her She’s always on my mind Wherever we go and whatever we do she’s the best I’ll ever find
Don't tell tina I've been takin' a ride with somebody else downtown if I had my way I'd take her every day but some times I gotta get around
Don't tell Tina (4x)
don't tell tina that it's getting cold and we might need a break I hope that she won't miss me for the couple months i take
don't tell tina that I'm getting old I can't always keep up with her there might come a time, when we can't go, back to the way we were
Don't tell Tina (4x)
I couldn't live with myself if she ever found out she's always been my ride or die and I can't without
don't tell tina that she's meant for more something greater than me this can't go on forever one day she'll set me free
Don't tell Tina (4x)

Thanks for listening! Wondering if I should have left it vague who Tina was...
I love the throwback feel of this! The harmonies are great, and I love those drum interludes!
many thanks for listening!
Wow, I love this old-school instrumentation, it's incredibly effective! The lyrics are also really fun! The chorus is super catchy, and the offbeat guitars are great! Well done!
Thanks so much!
I love how you personified your bike and made this super cool song. I like how we can write about one thing but people hearing the song would never guess what we are really writing about. I am enjoying the production and all your choices. You have a great balanced sound that really suits the genre you were going for. Really nice vocals and harmonies. Your guitar playing is also very good.
Thank you for listening and for all the supportive words!
Very clever. And I’m glad you told us in the Liner Notes that Tina is a bicycle! :) Great use of the line in the Ch, and the BVs made me smile (in a good way.). This is a totally fun song!
