Float
Liner Notes
Lyrics
I was trying to fight the waves Wearing myself out Day after day
Then I lightened up the load Let go of everything Weighing me down
Now I'm floating on the water Cause I learned to stop fighting the fear My body's feeling lighter Cause I've got new breath in my lungs
When the sky is turning gray The thunder clouds roll I can't see the shore
My hands are reaching out The less I have to hold The more I have to gain
Now I'm floating on the water Cause I learned to stop fighting the fear My body's feeling lighter Cause I've got new breath in my lungs
Now I'm floating on the water Cause I learned to stop fighting the fear My body's feeling lighter Cause I've got new breath in my lungs

Assuming this is a baritone ukulele? It's got a lot of great low end. I think a lot of us can connect with the feeling of these lyrics. Particularly like "The less I have to hold; The more I have to gain". Your vocal quality here is just right. Nice job.
The melody really mirrors the floating imagery you've conjured. There's an unresolved but yet positive vibe to the whole song. When you change the cadence on "Now I'm floating..." is a nice surprise. I personally wanted to hear it resolve but I think that's the point of the lyric - being at this point where possibility is in front of you - you've got new breath in your lungs.
Really nice voice and song! It's got nice chill feel to it that goes well with the title. Nice job!
Wonderful sounding uke and vocal tone. Fantastic delivery. I like the extended metaphor and a lesson for all of us. 🙌🎶
