I used the wikipedia random song generator to pull up this Wikipedia page, and it reminded me about Acacia street where I used to get dropped off, and it reminded me of one of my favorite rants :)

Rant: When I was a kid growing up in Vegas I went to high school at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and I took the bus home from school and it'd be a TWO MILE walk home from my bus stop, and my parents couldn't give me a ride 'cause they were both working but I would get off at Acacia Street and right across from the bus stop they started building this thing-- it looked like a cell phone tower and at the very end of building it, they made it look like a big pine tree.

Well, we lived in VEGAS There weren't 20-ft pine trees there There wasn't any sort of 20-ft tree. They could've painted it sky blue 'Cause it was always sky blue there But they, they chose to make a giant fricken pine tree that stuck out like a sore thumb

And my thought's, like,

Song: If you're gonna surprise me with a big cell phone tower that looks like a tree At least make it look like a tree that could live here Instead of something like an eyesore kinda pine tree

This kind of tree doesn't even live down here But really nothing much does And they've got palm tree options too, at least that's thematically appropriate!

Why am I still so mad about this fricken fake tree?? I'm surprised that I've never gotten over this sin on Acacia Street. And I can't seem to remember if we ever did anything about it They built a little wall around it so we couldn't get to it
