Just a Glance

Lyrics
She passed him on the street And later by the bus It was just a passing glance Was there something he could trust?
She was a lonely au pair He had been at war They spent their nights alone Staring at the skies, so dark so forlorn
Could it have been just a glance Or was it something more Was it really just a glance Could he hope for something more
Ten years later on that same street She was walking to work He passed her with a second take Was this the dream he had waited for
They had charted their separate paths Carried on their separate ways Years later he remembers that glance The way he thought she’d stay
Could it have been just a glance Or was it something more Was it really just a glance Could he hope for something more
He passed her on the dirt Cold and gray it stood Don’t forget my love it said He knew that he never would
And now it’s his last breath In his eyes a teary mist He never even knew her name Still there’s a smile upon his lips
Could it have been just a glance Or was it something more Was it really just a glance Could he hope for something more

Unrequitted love keeps all ideals that may get lost in everyday's life of a relationship. A nice topic to write about. I love the dreamy guitar tone.
This is so beautiful! Lovely story, I got really invested. “He never even knew her name / Still there’s a smile upon his lips” had me tearing up! The guitar playing is wonderful & you’ve got great tone. I love the melody on the chorus, the questioning & hoping! Great work making such an immersive story!
Cool love song that never happened but should have. I love the horn (synth?) during the music break. Well done!👍🏻
