Liner Notes
Last summer my city replaced all, except two, of the street lamps in my neighborhood with newer LED versions. Every time I walk by either of the old ones it just makes me so sad to think that they're the last two of their kind but they're stranded on opposite sides of the neighborhood. Ironically, they're also the only two working right now after my city (Nashville) was absolutely wrecked by a natural disaster.
Lyrics
I can always see your light, but I can't see you I don't always feel alight, even when the sky isn't blue
All our brothers dead and buried Hey come on, we should get married
I wish, I knew
Where you are Where you are Where you are
It can't be that far
Did you know they change the shape of the shadows? Do you remember when we used to cast those in display? Can I make it okay?
Every dream that we would make up Every wire that we would break up
I wish, I knew
Where you are Where you are Where you are
It can't be that far
I don't know if you see or hear me, but I hope you know that you are dear to me
This might be our last goodbye Who knows when they'll come for you and I?
I wish, I knew
Where you are Where you are Where you are
It can't be that far It can't be that far

The gentle rocking of the lullaby suits the subject beautifully. The bitter sweetness of it. Thank you for sharing.
Not a great situation but it inspired your beautiful song. Very tender singing and playing. Enjoyed listening.
Great song title and great backstory and inspiration for this lullaby. You made it universal even if it is about streetlamps. I also really liked the melody
Thanks! One of them just went out and it's making me super sad
