I've had worse writer's block than usual this FAWM, so I thought I'd try a humor song to shake things loose. This one is about the eternal question.

Verse One:

I’m leaving work at suppertime I’m cruising on my way It always seems an uphill climb It’s been a busy day My heart begins to fill with fear Cause I know what’s in store I dread what I’m about to hear When I walk through that door

Chorus:

What do you want for dinner tonight? I don’t know, how ‘bout you? It’s like we’re in a low-grade fight The options seem too few A heavy meal or something light? I don’t know what to do What do you want for dinner tonight? I really wish I knew

Verse Two:

If you want sushi, I want Thai It’s almost like it’s fate We can’t agree, I don’t know why There’s always some debate “I think we had that yesterday” “But pizza costs so much” “You said their food was just ok” “I had a heavy lunch”

The details of the conversation in Verse 2 are so relatable. Why can't stomachs beat in time with open another like hearts do?

Amusing lyrics and wordplay, captures such a common event, rhyming flows along nicely!

I love this song not only for being relatable, but how eloquent you described this common issue in its simplicity. Very good prose.

Great glimpe of the eternal struggle. The mundane nature of just deciding what to eat makes for a great song idea. I like how you wrap things up at the end. Just eat what is in the fridge. Honestly that would be a great place to end the song. A perfect wrap up.
