Demo updated: v2 (there were a few things that bothered me so I’ve redone certain bits to make them cleaner. This is a possible track for our next release as I really like it). ☺️

I did this one kind of like a skirmish. 2 hours start to finish. I wrote the words down on my iPhone notes, then went into the studio with the only idea in my head that I would use my nylon string, which I rarely ever use. I pressed record and played two chord sequence for a while and then came up with the vocal melody and some plinky plonky bits. As you can see, the soft acoustic song then took a bit of an unexpected turn as the heavy strum bit at the end was just crying out for the full band treatment. I really loved making this and it turned out so much better than I could have hoped! FAWM is great like that. It takes you out of your comfort zone so often that you can get the odd gem!

Oh, that nylon really sounds sweet here! Your vocals are stellar! Excellent lyrics; I especially love that middle section starting "Nothing will ever be as hard, As what you’ve built up in your mind"!! Man, ain't that the truth! Really cool lift in that last section! This is a killer song!!!

Another nylon string fan! Love your picking here. Such a cool vibe and mood.. And when things kick in - Hell yes! Love your emotionally charged vocals and harmonies. This was an absolute delight to hear.

Great vocal, love the harmonies. Great lyrics. “The clouds will blow away, But sometimes you might need them for the shade” is such a killer line. Melancholy comfort.

that climax is something! I love the way it breaks right out of the song and takes it to the finish, where the pretty music makes a re-entrance after the commotion of the vamp. one thing troubles me, though, and i dont know the answer. Do clouds actually give shade?
