Let's Call It Spring

Liner Notes
Every time I write a song about spring, I think it's just an inferior version of the Legrand/Bregman masterpiece "You Must Believe In Spring." Having said that, I'm happy with this swinging tribute to the early signs of the season. For my friends in colder regions, here's hoping for the spring to arrive soon! #guywithpiano #jazz #americansongbook #spring

Speaking of "You Must Believe In Spring," hard to better than Tony Bennett and Bill Evans
Lyrics
Who is that crocus trying to fool Popping through the ice and snow You can’t bring warmer weather With some fragrant floral show
But who am I to argue When a flower does its thing OK crocus, I’ll buy it Let’s Call It Spring
Who does that robin think that he is Hopping on the frozen ground You can’t rush sunny mornings With some melody and sound
But who am I to question When a bird begins to sing OK robin, I’ll buy it Let’s Call It Spring
They don’t have a watch or phone To keep them up to date They must have heard, they got the word No time to wait
If that’s the news from Mother Nature There must be a reason Time for us to go along Get set for the season
Why are we all still bundling up Change into those shorts and tees Get out your picnic basket spread a blanket, feel the breeze
Go ask the robin and crocus They are done with winter’s sting Let’s all say that we buy it Let’s Call It Spring

Wonderful - I could listen to this all day- the piano work is just gorgeous, and the lyrics/vocals are great. I want to be in a whiskey bar listening to this.
