For this one I simply wanted to learn how to record harmonica's. I wanted to do a good distorted kinda thing but I can't play the harmonica too well. Or for too long. It takes breath. So I whipped SOMETHING up and had fiddled with the guitar and banjo to it and came up with stuff to it. But I just then was wondering if I could incorporate my ocarina into it. I was already out of breath so why not! I don't know how to play it well either but I at least played a C and F. Sounded like a bird noise and just fit so well with the harmonica. Then I put the ocarina on the couch zipped up the harmonicas and put them on the couch to record a guitar part that I wasn't necessarily satisfied with when the zipper of my harmonica case hit the ocarina. Well that certainly sounded interesting to me and I picked it up and started tapping it. Next thing you know now Im running around the house getting different bottles and glasses. I also found a random box of sleigh bells! Started tapping then thought I could do some cool bottle blowing what with all the bottles I had gathered. I could definitely do some cool pitching with the bottles to make it sound more musical but I thought the atmosphere of it all with the harmonica and ocarina bird call thing that I could visualize a group of settlers in a canyon. SO I wanted to use things they might have had access to. Bottles. Glasses. This is NOT at all what I had planned but I felt it was cool. Want to try more live recording to get better with editing in pro tools and file management. Also used two programs FL Studio to make the beat and imported it into pro tools. Was wanting to learn how to do that so I set out to do that! First time!
