Liner Notes

Lyrics

a deafening sound you like to spin around in two places all at once while you’re phasing in and out like an otherworldly phantom

in and out up and down all around me can’t break out of this spout

i will never know how you’re in control round and round we go round and round we go

Short and sweet! Almost post punk feeling but I love all these blips and blogs in between.. how do you come up wirh these ideas?

[pic]

For the most part the ideas kind of materialize just through the process. A note inspires another note and they have a sonic relationship which makes me feel certain ways and that opens up a game of choose your own adventure that, hopefully, is engaging enough to explore. I’ve always been interested in how so many things in the universe spin. Like, atoms possess a fundamental quantum property called spin.. “ This intrinsic "spin" refers to the magnetic moment of electrons, protons, and neutrons within the atom, with the total nuclear spin determining how atoms behave in magnetic fields. ” ….that’s a fun concept.

Really like this! Love the arrangement, and how it builds! Cool track!!

Thanks! It’s fun developing sonic swells and pressure. Like when something starts simple and tightens into compactor and then releases and breathes again. On a musical level I find that interesting.

Whooooooa I loved this! Your vocal melody in the verses has me goosebumps and that riff(?) in the chorus fits the lyrics so well and hits so good! Reminds me a little of Echo and the Bunnymen? I loved this!

It's great to hear it hit! I learned to play the killing moon awhile ago. I didn't record or write a lot last year but I did play a lot, maybe some of that seeped in this year?

Great spinning around-intensity that matches the lyric so well. I especially like the sound (muted distorted guitar?) that comes in to the right at around 0.48. Love the playfulness with the unexpected piano phrase and all the sound FX towards the end.

Thanks, yeah i put a few little guitar parts in there for a bit of emphasis. One of my goals has been working on little embellishments and phrases in these compositions.

I can see my (MUCH) younger self dancing wildly to this song at a club in Boston .... and my current self dancing embarrassingly wildly to this song on a boat in the tropics where I don't know anybody and they've all had too much rum to remember me anyway. Great fun! I love the simplicity of the lyrics; they go so well with the sound.

I’d love to see that! Thanks, trying to keep it fun.i’m trying to not say too much, my favorite songs leave things open for some interpretation.

I really dig this! I especially love the little guitar line in the chorus. Nice work

I’m glad you like the noodlin’ and thanks for checking it out!

I really like the post-punk vibe of this song! The guitar parts are very cool with the little arpeggios! The vocals are very cool too! The synths at the end are great! Really catchy!

Sweet! I do love post-punk. I’m glad people seem to like those little guitar parts.I always struggle with vocals so I appreciate that. I try to make things catchy but I struggle with that haha I guess I struggle with everything and just hope it works out!
