Doggy

Liner Notes
Probably trying a bit hard, and I think I've recycled some lyrical ideas from other people, but whatever, all part of the fun.
Lyrics
Would you talk for us both If I said I wasn't a talker? Would you follow me home If I said I wanted a stalker? Would you growl and stare If a grizzly bear Was a thing I'd like to own? Then would you come and hug me if I felt alone?
Would you broke all my stocks If I said I need a stockbroker? Would you bring me fresh socks If I lost my socks at strip poker? Would you break my heart Like I was Bogart (and) get aboard that fateful plane (or) would you stay and be my very own Claude Rains?
Will you be my friend? Until the bitter end la la la la la? Will you be my friend? Until the bitter end la la la la la?
Would you kiss all the frogs If I turned into a froggy If I ran down a dog Would you help bury the body? Would you shave your hair For a stupid dare (or) does such pressure have no hold? If I wore a toupe Would you say my choice was bold? Am I the kind of guy with whom you know you will grow old?

as a Casablanca tragic how could i not love that the rhymes are funny and a bit corny - but that the point right! I love this one!
There's some wonderful couplets here. The socks/strip poker, the dead dog, the Casablanca bit.. all comedy gold. I get a bit of an echo of that Whole New World song from Aladdin, just in the 'Would you follow me home...' tune. Except you resolve the line differently (and more interestingly). Cutting everything to just piano is a great move, as is the introduction of the sort of orchestral kick drum sound towards the end. Just adds a lot interest to the arrangement. This is a tonne of fun.
Interesting lyrics. Like the backing track.
Lovely song. Those lyrics are so sincere and touching yet also hilariously funny. Your choice of words and associations are classic Brisk. Great vocal delivery too. I like the la la la la bit. Nice drum bit towards the end. Nobody else writes songs like you, and I mean that as a huge compliment...
Silly but sweet! I enjoyed it a lot. Nice performance and arrangement
