The Blind God Waits

Liner Notes
Some days ago @sapient made a death metal tune in the vein of slower Morbid Angel songs, and since the band is one of my all-time favourites, I wanted to try my hand in it, too. Sapient channeled "Where the Slime Live", and I did my best copying "God of Emptiness". I think there are some hints of my other huge death metal favourite, Immolation, to be heard in there as well.
Lyrics
In the silent chambers The blind god waits Calling onwards Servants of darkness
And those walls are covered with slime Echoes of past dread in the air
Worms feasting On this sacrifice Blood offering To the mad one
And those walls are covered with slime Echoes of past dread in the air

Thanks for the comment! Well, you should try both! :) Altars of Madness and Covenant by Morbid Angel and Close to a World Below and Atonement by Immolation might be good starting points. But I of course accept the Celtic Frost comparison, as they're awesome as well!
It's so thick. I mean, TTTHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCKKK!!! I believe this has its own gravitational pull. The vocal in a couple of spots puts me in mind of the ominous off-screen chittering of alien creatures in some kind of sci-fi horror...
Thank you! Hahah, I think my growls have never been described like that, but I'll take it!
Once again, it's really heavy! It's slow and terribly fat! You never disappoint ! Some voices remind me of guttural Gore-Grind singing, it's funny! I also love Immolation. I was lucky enough to see them live, and it was a real blast!
Cheers! I didn't know I could even do goregrind vocals, and didn't aim for it, but glad you enjoyed it, hahah! I've seen Immolation both times they've played in Finland, 2008 and 2019. I worship that band! Own all their albums and just recently read the book about their history. They're coming here again with Mayhem and Marduk this month actually, but I don't have a ticket, and I'm afraid it's sold out...
The headbanging starts right away. I'm in. Delightfully heavy. Bridge is a nice change-up. Love the bass tone.
Cheers! Yeah, definitely the heaviest track I've dished out this year, heheh!
GodsDAMN - that fukkin NAILS it! God Of Emptiness and Chapel of Ghouls are probably my two favourite MA tunes, and so it warms my balck heart to hear a riff like this. And those chorus vocals. Sweet, sweet desolation 😀
Thank you, man! Altars of Madness is my favourite album by them, but none of the ABCD albums are weak. Awesome death metal darkness.
I love a curveball in time signatures
Cheers! If you're referring to the fastest part near the end of the song, that was definitely the hardest one to play for my modest skills 😅
WOW! Not sure where you were going, but I believe you got there. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Heeaaaavy riffage here! Love that opening 6/4 riff. I'm not too familiar with Morbid Angel or Immolation, so my mind went to Celtic Frost (nothing specific, just the riff language in general). Excellent work!
