In Arthurian legend, Sir Gawain has an enchantment on him that makes him stronger all morning, but then weaker all afternoon. Some scholars believe this is because Gawain is an adaptation of a Welsh Sun God, and this trait lived on in the stories.

In the civil war that occurs after Lancelot's affair with Guinevere, Gawain challenges Lancelot to a duel. Lancelot knows Gawain is essentially invincible during the middle of the day, so he just plays defense until the sun starts to go down, when he deals Gawain a wound that later proves to be mortal.

It got me thinking how many of us give our best hours and years in service to corporations, leaving us tired for the things that should matter: Family, Friends, and Community.
