Just Enough

Skirmish: Enough (@robinleaf)Liner Notes
Perfection is the enemy of good (Voltaire, I think). Nowhere is that more true than with songwriting, and I'm guessing many of us struggle with trying to get things "perfect". An admirable goal, but also a procrastinator's excuse. I posted the lyrics to this in time for the skirmish, but I'm visiting friends in Colorado, so it took a while to find and hook up a MIDI keyboard and find a quiet enough space to record. This is definitely not the final version (I'm hearing a heavenly choir, church organ and shredding guitar....). Thanks to all the comments so far! #skirmish #singersongwriter #guywithpiano

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring” Marilyn Monroe. I love this song, the chords, the lyrics and the delivery may not be perfect but they are a bit genius. :))
I'm so not perfect at maintenance. Thanks for reminding me that the fences need mending...along with the porch light, the door that won't lock and the living room floor. (just the short list for now). Good thoughts, good skirmish.
Is "perfection is the enemy of the good" a Spock quote? Anyway it's really good. I cursed with being a perfectionist so could relate to this lyric a whole lot! The "tip-toe" line got me shaking my head - I hate that I do that!
Voltaire, although I'm guessing many people have repeated that over the years. Sounds Spockian, though!
Really great take on prompt and spot on message - you develop the concept really well. It is a wonderfully supportive lyric!
Just enough indeed! FAWM always has me trying to find that "just enough"line.
Sooooo relatable! Beautifully expressed ideas. Love your lyrics. I can see the chords and I can't wait to hear your song.
Nadia, I was thinking of your usual style of sparse piano when I did this demo! Thanks for the kind comments.
Thank you so much for adding the chords!!! "Perfection is the enemy of good" is one of my personal mantras now, love that line <3
